Why we created this event

Logan BookFest was created to give local authors and creators a real place to be seen.

Too many people had incredible books, ideas, and creations…
but nowhere to share them in a way that felt welcoming, accessible, and community-driven.

So we built something different.

A space where stories come to life.
Where creators connect with real people.
Where the community shows up to discover something new.

Now in its 4th year, Logan BookFest keeps growing — not just in size, but in energy, connection, and opportunity.

About the Organiser

Logan BookFest is created by Turtle Publishing, run by Kathy Shanks.

Through Turtle Publishing, Kathy works closely with authors — helping them edit, publish, and share their books with the world.

From first-time writers to experienced authors, her work focuses on turning ideas into finished books, and helping those books actually reach readers.

Kathy is also an author herself, with a range of published works across non-fiction books & journals, a dystopian YA novel, and collaborative projects — giving her a real, first-hand understanding of what it takes to bring a book to life and connect it with an audience.

Logan BookFest grew directly from that work.

Because it’s not just about creating books…
it’s about giving them a place to be discovered.
